OUR RESULTS:

Since 2000, LASIK is the most commonly performed surgical procedure amongst all the medical surgeries put together

Eye surgery like any other surgery, is not devoid of risks and complications. We are honest here to present here our results and take pride in managing the complications, when they occur, in a successful manner.

LASIK Complications:
Our enhancement rate is less than 5 %. An enhancement rate is a rate determining how many times a touch up was required after LASIK. World over, an enhancement rate less than 8% is considered to be very good. This touch up is not always required. We do not charge for this touch up whenever it’s required.

Dry eyes after LASIK is not uncommon and resolves in most patients with eye drops.

There was no case of vision loss or blindness.

Number of cases having lost vision completely: 0

Number of cases having eye infections: 2
These cases were treated for the infection and have good results till date. Infact both of them came back for the other eye surgery. We were able to manage these cases successfully with intravitreal injections and antibiotic drops. The surgeries were uneventful and without any complications and we suspect underlying tuberculosis as the cause of eye infection. One of them had cough during the post operative/after surgery period.

Number of cases having posterior capsule rupture: 7
Most of them had good vision post operatively. About 80% of them (5of 7) were high risk/complicated cases and had been warned pre operatively of the higher risk of PC rupture. A good anterior vitrectomy was done and an anterior chamber implant was implanted in them.

Dropped Nucleus: 1
This occurred in a very hard dense mature cataract where the patient had delayed surgery for many years resulting in weak zonules. The nucleus was retrieved by a vitreo retinal surgeon and has good post operative vision till date.

ORTHO K lenses:
We have found this to be an excellent mode of treatment with a success rate as high as 98%.Patient selection for treatment forms a very important part of the treatment.

DCR (Dacryorhinostomy)Results:
We are very proud to have excellent results (over 95%) in people who have excessive watering and have a blocked nasolacrimal ducts. This is because of an adequate opening that we create which does not close over a period of time.
